In honor of my newly acquired adulthood, and new-found love of fashion and beauty blogs, I have decided to create a blog documenting all of the pretty things that catch my eye. In this blog I will ramble and gush over sparkly, entrancing, and straight up glorious things. Why? Why not!
It all starts now.
Obsession number one:
Fishtail braids and (self proclaimed) my crazy cat lady earrings.
Why I'm obsessed?
Let me start by saying that I was born by the ocean and all of my childhood was spent in anticipation of going to the beach. That is still true today. (I actually went on a day trip yesterday with four friends to the coast.) So let it be known that I adore anything beachy and/or nautical.So that having been said, I love fishtail braids because they make me think of mermaids. I almost wish that they were called "mermaid-tail" braids rather than fishtail braids. Doesn't "mermaid-tail" sound more appealing than "fishtail"?
As for the cat earrings... I've always had cats as pets. I got my first cat when I was 5 (as seen below) and I have had many a feline since. So it should be no surprise that I'm a big fan of kitty themed jewelry.
(This is Benjamina and she simply refuses to die. Note: She's 13 years old.)
The pair that I'm wearing in the picture are thrifted from my mother's collection of unworn costume jewelry. Thanks, Mom! (She'll never notice that they're gone.)
That's all I have for the moment! A new obsession in a a day or so.
